Christina Kiss is a world-renowned concert pianist who has toured the world in concert, won top prizes in all the major international piano competitions, and attended the top conservatories including the Juilliard School in New York and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. She has given masterclasses all over the world from New York to Shanghai, and is regarded as one of the foremost experts on the ABRSM exams, and is a highly sought-after piano instructor. In addition to teaching students of professional and music conservatory college-level students, Miss Kiss also enjoys teaching a student who is a beginner in piano and building their skills from the grounds up. She enjoys teaching a student from the beginning so that she can teach them a solid tecnique and good habits before they pick up bad habits elsewhere. Kiss is an expert on teaching both technique and interpretation.

The ABRSM (Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music) is a highly prestigious testing system from the Royal Academy of Music in London. It is by far the most prestigious international piano exam, and highly regarded by colleges and universities in student applications. It is for piano students under 18; before attending college. It is a full evaluation of a young pianist’s technique, expression and performance, as well as their practical knowledge. It is the SAT and Act of piano…only much more fun! But it is just as essential as the SAT or ACT for college applications in today’s competitive world of college applications!

In addition to teaching her students technique and piano repertoire, Christina is an expert in the ABRSM exams, and has been teaching her students in this system for the last 15 years. She knows the in’s and out’s of the exams thoroughly, and is officially regarded by the ABRSM as one of the most proficient piano professors. Most of the students she prepares for the exam with receive the highest mark of “Distinction”. It was for this reason that Ms. Kiss founded the “ABRSM Academy”, which is her system of privately coaching students of hers for the ABRSM piano and theory exams. She sets her students up for success with her years of performance and ABRSM experience, and gives them the tools to succeed not only in the exam room, but as a well-rounded and brilliant musician! Christina provides inspiration and detailed instruction for her students, and treats all of her students like family, giving the whole studio a family atmosphere. For both her piano studio and ABRSM academy, there are an average of 2 student recitals every year, where students learn to perform in front of a live audience. Christina believes this is one of the most important facets of learning the piano–learning to perform and build confidence and stage presence.

Christina Kiss believes in inspiring her students to be the greatest that they can be! She instructs them carefully and thoughtfully, and pours out her hard-earned expertise in her field to them! She is passing on knowledge directly from the great classical and romantic composers to them. And she innovates new styles of teaching, as well as encouraging her students to be innovators and use their imaginations. Christina loves teaching students of all ages and levels, and in particular loves it when she can teach somebody from the beginning so they can start with a solid foundation. These days, there are many piano teachers, but very few experts who actually know what they are talking about. Christina works hard to diagnose any student’s technical or expressive troubles with her unique system that has propelled so many of her students into international careers. She loves teaching students who become professional musicians, but also teaches several students who minor in music or do music as a hobby. What she hopes to leave each student with is a solid technique and freedom of expression, as well as imparting to them a love of music that will last them a lifetime!
